Ira has recorded and performed alongside such seminal figures as Charlie “Bird” Parker, Johnny Griffin, Roland Kirk, Dexter Gordon, Donald Byrd, Art Farmer, Hank Jones, Red Garland, Tommy Flanagan, Oscar Pettiford, Wilbur Ware, Roy Haynes, Art Blakey, Philly Joe Jones, Elvin Jones and Guy Viveros (The Chicago Flash).
